The AG-HPG10 is small-sized and battery-operated to guarantee easy usage. It enables you to check P2 contents shot by a camcorder on a larger LCD display and can playback the contents via HD-SDI to the monitor or other equipment. The AG-HPG10 can be used as temporary archive when copying the content from P2 cards to it via IEEE1394 and USB2.0 HOST to ext.HDD.

At the heart of the P2-Series is Panasonic's new plug-in PC-card type media. Called P2 ("Professional Plug-in"), these solid state memory cards are neither tape nor disk and require no mechanism. P2 cards fit neatly into the slots of P2 Series equipment and record DVCPRO50/DVCPRO/DV data. The P2 card is extremely rugged, enabling the P2 camcorder to achieve outstanding anti-vibration and anti-shock performance. This handheld DVCPRO HD P2 camera-recorder is designed to meet emerging needs in HD content production. It debuts as Panasonic's first HD video product to use P2, the cutting-edge memory recording device that has the potential to revolutionize the entire production paradigm.

The AG-HVX200 records HD, either 1080i or 720p video acquired by a new optical system and high-performance digital signal processor onto a P2 card using the broadcasting DVCPRO HD codec. This system achieves a level of image quality that conventional handheld HD cameras simply cannot match, while also supporting HD/SD multi-format and multi-codec recording capabilities.

Variable frame rate recording is just one of the features that makes the AG-HVX200 unique in its class. Using technologies that make the Panasonic VariCam camera-recorder a favourite in movie production, this powerful function allows the over cranking and under cranking techniques used with film cameras to create fast-motion and slow-motion effects. The P2 card offers superior reliability, immediate playback and outstanding cost-performance. It allows direct connection to non-linear editing systems and streamlines the production work flow, by providing to the editing system data files ready to be edited, rather than a video tape which would require the task of digitising.

PIXEL SHIFTING AND UP-REZZING NOT SPOKEN HERE

Typical high-end HD camcorders have 2.1M pixel sensors and record with 3:1:1 color sub-sampled video at up to 30fps. RED can deliver 12M pixels at up to 60fps and record wide dynamic range and color space 12 bit native RAW. That's more than 5 times the amount of information available every second and a vastly superior recording quality. Don't need all that data for your workflow? Dial it back, and keep all the other advantages of the Mysterium TM Super 35mm cine sized (24.4×13.7mm) sensor. You get the same breathtaking Depth of Field and selective focus as found in film cameras using equivalent 35mm P/L mount lenses. Mysterium TM boasts greater than 66db Dynamic Range thanks to its large 29 sq. micron pixels. And 12,065,000 pixels deliver resolution that can only be called Ultra High Definition.

RED ONE IS A MODULAR DESIGN

Shoot lightweight EFP style (body around 9 lbs., in rugged aluminum alloy) or load it up to shoot a feature film. Options include RED-RAILTM mounting accessories that 'grow' the camera body.
